Arian Henning (*1995, Germany) is a legal scholar working at the intersection of law, behavioral economics, and computer science. He is currently a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, where he is a member of the humanet3 research group at the Center for Humans and Machines.

His research focuses on the behaviorally informed design of public institutions, with a particular emphasis on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) in public decision-making. His work combines legal analysis with quantitative experimental methods to study the effects of algorithmic decision-making and explanations on perceived fairness, legitimacy, and accountability.

In parallel, Arian works as a documentary and portrait photographer. His photographic work focuses on political and legal conflicts. Alongside editorial and corporate commissions, he pursues independent documentary projects. His work has been published in Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit, Der Spiegel, and Politico.
